How Dogs Get Here

ACD's and ACD mixes are accepted into foster care at Heeler Haven Rescue from animal  shelters, other rescue organizations, and from private individuals.

Dogs are first interviewed by personnel/
volunteers affiliated with Heeler Haven to determine if the dog is or can be a suitable candidate for placement in a companion home environment.  Dogs must meet the following before being accepted:

• Easily identifiable as an ACD or mostly ACD mix

• Even tempered with no apparent displays of aggression toward humans

• At risk of euthanasia or situations deemed unsuitable for the dog

Heeler Haven Rescue will not accept dogs 
showing extreme aggression toward humans 
or other dogs.

Heeler Haven Rescue reserves the right to 
refuse a dog into the rescue program.
